Cycling club members will have the opportunity to feature in BIKE’s first series of The Club, a new show dedicated exclusively to exploring the tradition of club cycling in the UK.

Ned Boulting will travel the UK to join cycling clubs on their favourite rides, while learning about their’ histories, meeting members, and discussing their plans for the future. With more than 1,700 cycling clubs and over 100,000 British Cycling members, club cycling in the UK has never been stronger.

Club members can apply to be featured free of charge on the official website. Interested parties will need to fill in an application form with their name, brief history and reasons that their club would be an ideal fit for the show. Successful applicants will feature in a dedicated 30-minute TV episode, across the website, and all the channel's social channels.

Series host and voice of the Grand Tours Ned Boulting said: “Cycling clubs are the bedrock of the sport in this country. Without the men and women of the clubs, for whom cycling is a communal pleasure and challenge, joy and commitment, there is no natural home to which the cyclist can turn for kinship and learning. I want to find out what makes them tick, how they differ across the land, and how their local geography and history has shaped their characteristics. The Club is a celebration of a quirky and unheralded British institution.”

Filippo Ubaldini, Founder & CEO of BIKE Channel, said: “We are delighted to officially launch the first-ever series of The Club. Cycling clubs give every cyclist the opportunity to be part of something bigger than just themselves, a real community. Sunday club runs are the foundation of this, expertly planned routes all over the country. We want to get to know the anecdotes and personality of every club we visit and you can apply to be part of it.”

The Club will air six 30 minute episodes this Winter and continue with further seasons throughout 2017. Each episode will be shown exclusively on BIKE, available on Sky channel 464, Virgin Media channel 552 and Freesat channel 251.
