Bicycle registration and security brand undergoes name change

Bike Revolution rebrands as Bike Shepherd

Bicycle registration and security firm Bike Revolution has undergone a name change in what spokesperson Briand Beausoleil says is a move to better convey the recovery aspect of the clever tagging system.

The name change will not effect existing user’s of the Kyrptonite-owned ID tagging system. There is no need for current customers to make any changes to their account or tags. Visitors to bikerevolution.org will be automatically redirected to bikeshepherd.org.

“Initially, Bike Revolution was created to make an impact, to state that positive change were coming for cyclists and there was an alternative to traditional methods of fighting bike theft,” said Beausoleil.

“Since then, we’ve heard from our cycling audience who shared their stories on how our registration platform and anti-theft tags have protected their bikes, and in cases where bikes were stolen, helped get them back,” says Beausoleil. “We’ve listened to them and believe the new brand will be more relevant to what our core mission is, which is about offering greater levels of protection and recovering bikes”

The brand continues to expand into more countries. Beausoleil added: “We’re very excited about the name change to Bike Shepherd. It fits with our growing global audience and encompasses future technology that we plan to introduce as part of our efforts to help cyclists keep their bikes safe."
