Bike shop manager attacked on Christmas Day, dies New Year's Eve

Chris Mason, manager of Cyclopedia in Watford, died on New Year’s Eve after he was assaulted in the early hours of Christmas Day in Watford town centre.
Publish date:

Mason had worked at Cyclopedia for 10 years.

In a press release issued by Hertfordshire Constabulary, Mason's mum said:

“Christopher was caring, considerate and very popular. He had many friends and we have received a lot of support over the last week.

“He could be very strong-willed and ran his life exactly how he wanted to, but he also had a wonderful sense of humour and was always willing to help out.

“We would like to thank everyone who has offered their support: the hospital for the care they gave Christopher and the police for their help and support."

Mason was attacked by a man wearing a gold party hat. The attack is said to have been unprovoked.
