As November has drawn to a close so too has charity hair-extravaganza Movember.

You may remember that many companies in the bicycle trade have been cultivating their handlebars, mutton chops and walrus-style 'taches. But how did they get on?

Fisher Outdoor Leisure's HQ saw ample face foliage over the month, with the hairy bunch raising an impressive £1,770 - with donations still to come in. Fisher added a cheque for £1,000 and after a successful company car wash the charity-minded team managed to accumulate a hearty £3,000.

Hirstute Halfords staffers - almost 2,000 of them - raised more than a whopping £15,000 in support of the charity.

Halfords retail director Rob Swyer, who also got in on the Movember action, said: “I’m proud of our colleagues’ show of support and amazed at the creativity and variety of the moustaches they now bear. Health is a serious business but we’ve had good fun and the network has just grown and grown over the last few weeks raising funds and awareness for an important cause.”

Movember combats prostate and testicular cancer as well as mental health challenges facing men. These programmes, directed by the Movember Foundation, are focused on awareness and education, living with and beyond these problems.
