During the month of November, soon to be moustachioed cycle industry teams are taking part in the Movember charity challenge, including Zyro, JeJames and Moore's Cycles

The boys of Zyro's internal sales team all arrived at work on November 1st clean shaven and over the course of the month plan to grow and cultivate their very own ‘Mo’s’. Aside from the style benefits (think Tom Selleck), the team is doing this to raise money for the Movember Foundation, which promotes changing the face of men’s health in relation to testicular and prostate cancer - http://uk.movember.com/about/vision-goals

Zyro is encouraging all staff members to get involved with fundraising efforts and have placed sponsorship forms in the staff areas, with regular photo updates being circulated to see how the teams ‘Mo’s’ are progressing.

However, you don't have to be passing Zyro HQ to support the team, you can do that through http://uk.movember.com/mospace/7574521.

JeJames Cycles' support team and shop staff are getting involved in the growing challenge too.

A variety of moustache styles are anticipated from the team, from the classic Handlebar to the more contemporary Rufus Hound / Policeman from the Village People.

JeJames buyer Kenny Wilson has been a keen supporter of the cause and has been a key figure in drumming up support from the rest of the staff. He has created a JeJames Movember team and is encouraging staff to join in, even if some of the younger staff members aren't blessed with the ability to grow a beard in a month they can still get involved by sponsoring (as can anyone) at http://uk.movember.com/team/982681

Fellow cycle retailer Moore's Cycles are also among the furs-t in the trade to get involved in Movember. For each men's bike bought Moore's Cycles are donating £5 to Movember – plus with any bike purchaser who shares a photo of their new bike AND moustache the retailer will charitably double the donation for that bike. There's more information on Moore's Cycles Movember charity efforts here.

Glasgow's Dales Cycles has partnered with Silverfish and Yeti in their Movember efforts. We're only a week into Movember and they've already raised over £500. Interestingly enough, £500 was the threshold that Allan Doyle, e-commerce manager, originally set as a target and vowed to have a mohawk haircut if it was hit – so he'll be grabbing the clippers shortly... There's more on Dales Cycles' Movember work here.

Meanwhile St Albans distributor Fisher Outdoor Leisure has enlisted a whopping 27 formerly smooth-faced men (pictured below) to take part - their Movember page is here.

We at BikeBiz are collectively doffing our caps in the direction of all these bike traders. If there's anyone else from the bicycle industry getting involved in Movember then feel free to let us know at BikeBiz@intentmedia.co.uk and we'll add it to this story.
