Earlier this week BikeBiz received the news that the Rubena brand would be available via a new distributor in the UK. We’ve since found the information we were passed was incorrect – Rubena is still available through Bike Tyrestore in the UK exclusively. Here’s a press release from Bike Tyrestore, putting the record straight:
"A recent press release issued to BikeBiz may have appeared to suggest that a new company had been appointed to distribute Rubena cycle tyres and associated products in the UK. This is not the case. Bike Tyrestore (BTS) remains the sole trade distributor in the UK for Rubena a.s.
The Birmingham-based supplier continues to enjoy a fruitful association with the Czech Republic manufacturer and this was clearly evident at the recent Cycle Show held at the NEC, where Pavel Burda, sales manager of Rubena a.s. worked alongside BTS sales manager Adam Rous on the Rubena UK stand for each of the four days.
“After just ten months of working with Bike Tyrestore, we have already seen a considerable increase in our UK market share,” explained Burda. “It is easy for us to work with the team at Bike Tyrestore as they have many years of experience working with rubber products and understand the material. They have used their skill and expertise to raise awareness of the brand and thanks to the BTS set-up, we are not surprised at the growth in sales year-to-date.
“We would like to set the record straight and reassure our growing Rubena customer base that Bike Tyrestore is, and will continue to be, the sole distributor for Rubena in the UK,” explained BTS sales manager Adam Rous. “It would appear that, unfortunately, a rough draft release was sent in to BikeBiz and its publication has subsequently caused some concern. We have a massive stock of Rubena product, with more on the way, and have a host of plans for 2013 and beyond. News and new product announcements will be made in the New Year and we look forward to continuing to build the Rubena brand through our trade customers.”"
