BIKEBIZ AWARDS: Rouleur bags Mag of the Year award

In just ten issues Rouleur has built a subscriptions base of over 2,000, mainly by word-of-mouth. That’s an impressive statistic, but to become an industry favourite in just ten issues, that’s outstanding, especially given the competition.

And so Rouleur has won the Cycling Consumer Press of the year award. In a recent interview with BikeBiz editor Guy Andrews said: "The cover price reflects the small circulation and the quality of the product we’re putting out there." It’s said that early issues of the Rapha-owned publication are selling on Ebay for up to ten times the cover price.

Also in the consumer press category, BikeRadar.com has scooped the title Cycling Consumer Website of the Year.

A relatively new launch, the website has quickly established itself as one of the must visit news and features sources among cyclists worldwide.

Additionally, the majority of voters were keen to recognise Sustrans’ marketing team. The organisation has perhaps drawn more attention to cycling than any other in the industry. In December last year Sustrans’ secured £50 million in lottery funding via the People’s Choice awards held on ITV. And the Connect2 project is just one of many run by Sustrans’ designed to get Britain cycling.
