Over 50 judges fron across the industry voted on the market's finest achievements in all sectors of the business – from IBDs to sales, marketing and media.
Highlights include UK cycling industry veteran Bob Chicken picking up the Industry Achievement Award, whilst London-based Condor Cycles is named Independent Retailer of the Year. Elsewhere, Hot Wheels and Extra have picked up awards in the Distribution categories, and Hope Technology has been voted as Best Manufacturer.
The first awards to celebrate the teams and individuals behind the thriving UK cycling industry, as well as the products, the BikeBiz Awards were carried out transparently. "Congratulations to all the winners of the first BikeBiz Awards. And thanks to the industry judges; I think they picked the right winners," said BikeBiz executive editor Carlton Reid.
"Sadly, not everybody could walk away with an award, but whether a company won or not, the breadth of excellent entries showed me that the bike industry is teeming with talent, not all of it latent. We Brits are getting better at shouting about our skills and successes, and the BikeBiz Awards are all about rewarding companies and people for the passion and hard work that was so evident from the nominations."
