BikeBiz will partner with The Cycle Show in 2017 as the show’s official trade day partner.
“Despite having enjoyed a very successfully working partnership with BikeBiz dating back to the show’s launch in 2001, this is the first time we’ve been able to say they’re a partner and we couldn’t be happier to have them on board,” commented event director Chris Holman.
BikeBiz editor Hayley E. Ferguson added: "The Cycle Show is an essential event in the cycling calendar for the industry. We’re very excited about the new partnership and look forward to working closely with the show to deliver the latest news and product information to the trade."
With the UK’s biggest line-up of bike companies and distributors at the NEC for the Cycle Show, a visit on the trade day is an efficient way to see the new bike and product ranges for the year ahead under one roof and meet and do business with your suppliers.
The show is open exclusively to cycle trade and press on Thursday, September 21st, and will be closed to the general public so the exhibiting brands and distributors can focus on B2B requirements. There are also a number of B2B stands that are only at the show on the trade day as well as a trade-focussed line-up of talks taking place.
There’ll be another interesting new dynamic to the show this year with VeloBirmingham happening the same weekend. Holman continued: “It’s clear already that the ride is shaping up to be an outstanding addition to the sportive calendar and having 18,000 riders in Birmingham on Saturday and Sunday is great for the city’s cycling credentials.
“From the show’s perspective, it creates a few logistical issues with a big potential increase in demand for tickets, but they’re not insurmountable. Saturday was very nearly at full capacity last year so we’ll be extending opening hours and offering afternoon tickets for the first time ever exclusively to the riders.
“To create some more capacity, Sunday will become a family cycling day with children’s tickets free on that day. There’ll also be some exciting activity happening outside the halls on Saturday with women and men’s crit races scheduled for the afternoon on a loop starting and finishing on the show’s doorstep.
“Sweetspot will be coordinating the race day action and the UK’s top teams will be taking part so the level of racing will be top-draw. There’ll be food and drink available at trackside to add a bit of a festival buzz too.”
