Cycle training company BikeRight! is now offering accredited City & Guilds qualifications in bicycle maintenance from its newly refurbished workshop in Manchester.
Working in partnership with the Manchester College, which is providing trainee registration and administration, BikeRight! will be delivering the training to Level 2 Professional Qualification City & Guilds in Cycle Maintenance using the latest updated curriculum.
BikeRight! ran a couple of pilot courses last year to establish and hone procedures and is now ready and waiting for bookings. Dates for this year’s ten day hands-on courses are set for mid-March, May, June and September and can be booked online at www.bikeright.co.uk. All trainees will receive a free Park Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair and a free FertS work stand.
Maintenance tutor Mary Clark said: "This is a very exciting development for us, after many years offering non-vocational courses we have now taken the next step and are set to train a new generation of bike mechanics.”
“The new workshop is amazing, fully kitted out with Park Tools, work benches and work stands it’s a state-of-the-art bike fixers paradise.”
BikeRight! director Jo Somerset commented: “The course is ideal for anyone who has some prior experience with bike maintenance, even if self-taught, and with support available from the Skills Funding Agency the 10 day course can cost as little as £400 + VAT if you are unemployed.”
