Birmingham-based iCycle, formerly known as Harbourne Cycle Surgery, is hosting a public open day on Thursday June 24th for Bike Week, as reported by the Birmingham Post.

The Queen Alexandra College-owned social enterprise is inviting members of the public to discover more about cycling and publicise the city’s cycle routes, as well as stressing the environmental benefits of the pastime.

Attendees will also have chance to jump on bikes for test-drives and receive some expert advice too. There will also be chance to enter a prize draw and sign up for the College’s sponsored cycle ride.

The iCycle open day will run from 10.30am till 12.30pm, then again from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, giving nine-to-fivers chance to attend.

Shaun Jones, manager of iCycle, said: “Whether you’re doing your bit to save the environment, looking to take advantage of Birmingham’s improved cycle routes (for example the Harborne Walkway) or making the most of a company or government voucher scheme, there are lots of incentives to cycle."
