Brodie Bikes has released details of its 2011 range, marking the firm's 25th year in the bike industry.

The niche business' new line-up sees enhanced frame designs, new internal gear bikes and an increase in pavement sport offerings.

We've got images of some of the new Lightning, Hardass, Rat, Express, Speed, Journey and TransCanada bikes.

2011 highlights include the Lightning Series - comprising EC Hardtails that are 'shaped, lighter and more refined'. The all-mountain hardtail Hardass Series - pitched as 'more all-mountain than freeride; lighter and refined' now have matching pedals and saddle trim colours.

The Rat series of dirt jump/urban/pump track bikes that 'blur the line between BMX and MTB' now see frame upgrades including shorter chain stays, and mid-type bb shell, integrated headsets.

The Express series of flat bar commuter/road bikes have also been enhanced with shaped, lighter frames, among other upgrades. The Speed Series has seen two new steel models introduced to the drop bar cyclocross/commuter/road touring bike line. Both the Journey Series of hybrid/comfort/cruiser bikes and the Transcanada series of multi-use hardtail rides have been enhanced.

The firm said: "A quarter of a century has flown by at Brodie & we have seen many aspects of our business evolve. From humble roots of Paul meticulously hand building every custom frame 25 years ago, to today where Paul teaches his art of hand building to a new crop of students anxious to build their own ride."
