The recently released limited edition folding bike was designed in collaboration with Vespertine NYC.
The new bike continues in Brompton’s yearly tradition of celebrating a major city by releasing a limited run bike. The New York City edition includes design work inspired by various iconic aspects of New York’s history; a special roll-top bag and a clothing line complete the collection.
The select 1500 units that have been made available to the public feature a highly reflective pattern and Brompton logo, anodised cranks and hubs, accented ergon grips and a low-profile saddle. The bike also sports Kojak tyres, which are specifically designed for strength and efficiency on city streets.
American brand Vespertine NYC utilised parts of the Manhattan Bridge, the Chrylser Building and the chevrons that feature on all New York cycle paths; these elements were combined into a semi-abstract design that forms the backbone of the brand’s Haute Reflection collection.
All accessories launching with the NYC edition are 100 per cent merino wool and are designed to feature 3M reflective threads which the brand claims are visible from over 2,000 feet away.
