Budget brings little specific cheer for bike trade

Gordon Brown is still giving his 2003 Budget speech but thanks to an 87 page PDF available on the HM Treasury website, it's possible to read about his main proposals before he talks about them. There appears to be no tax breaks for cycle commuters...

However, twas not to be. Bummer. But at least Gordon Brown is to cut a lot of red tape for businesses in general and there's a few positive VAT changes too.

And how jammy is Gordon? He planned for his (late) budget statement to be given to the House of Common's on the day the war in Iraq looks to be over...
