Scottish engineers Ken Norton and Gordon Drummond have created Limits, an interchangeable cycling power meter which would retail for $384 but is currently on crowdfunding website Indiegogo for $249. Limits is said to be compatible with all types of bicycles, and is simple to instal, with no specialised tools required.

The initial funding goal of $100,000 was reached within the first three days of the crowdfunding campaign.

Drummond said: “We will be able to overcome the greatest challenges of the power meter industry today which are mainly price, hardware neutrality and installation."

Norton said: “The success of our crowdfunding campaign is the greatest proof that we offer a solution that cyclists need. This is because through crowdfunding, people are able to support us directly and provide feedback that there is demand in the market before we release it."
