Cabal Communications, publishers of lads mag Front, Procycling and the Official Tour de France Guide, has been appointed by the Business Design Centre, organisers of Cycle 2002 in September, to produce the show guide. This will be a lavish 68-page affair, more akin to a consumer mag, or a 'mag-alogue,' than a normal show catalogue. The tie-in with Procycling will also lead to editorial mentions in a range of Cabal's titles, including Front and homes and lifestyle mag, Real Homes

Cabal gets Cycle 2002 catalogue

The editor will be Procycling’s Jeremy Whittle, editorial director of Cabal Sport, who is also cycling correspondent for The Times.

"We’re sure that this is going to be the biggest and most dynamic bike show the UK has ever seen and we’re very excited about working with BDC on producing a magazine that embodies the appeal and excitement of all forms of cycling," said Whittle.

Mick Bennett, Cycle 2002 exhibition director, believes the Cabal deal will result in a professional show guide.

"I have been most impressed with the ideas and enthusiasm for the project shown by the Cabal team. Not only will they produce a show guide that will be a great source of reference for visitors at the show and for a long time after, but they offer superb opportunities for our visitor promotion campaign with their two major titles and their website, www.procycling.com."
