Calling bike photographers, supply a lifestyle shot for BBC.co.uk

Yesterday's Bike Fest in the Square attracted 15 000 people to a sun-drenched, car-free, cycle-friendly section of London's Trafalgar Square. But, what picture did BBC.co.uk use to illustrate the story? The same pic it dredges up for nearly all of its cycling stories, a dated, depressing, frightening image of a face-masked cycle commuter being chased by a juggernaut.

But check out the image used. This pic is used time and time again by BBC.co.uk and deserves to be retired.

What's needed is a pic that the BBC can use to illustrate all sorts of cycling stories and should portray cycling as health-promoting, attractive, quick and pleasurable, not a dangerous, hair-shirt activity for nutters.
