Cannondale inks global shoe deal with Diadora

Cannondale Bicycle Corporation has reached an agreement in principle to a global partnership with sport shoe maker Diadora Invicta S.p.A. of Italy.

Established in 1948, Diadora is located in Caerano di San Marco, Montebelluna- Treviso, in the Veneto region of northern Italy, the centre of footwear technology.

The partnership will include exclusive distribution rights of Diadora cycling footwear in the North America and Japan markets. Cannondale and Diadora will co-brand cycling shoes in Europe. The partnership begins with the introduction of cycling footwear for the Spring/Summer 2006 season.

Both companies are familiar with one another since they are both sponsors of the Lampre-Caffita cycling team and Damiano Cunego.

“This agreement is a natural fit for us and complements our product offering,” said Matt Mannelly, President of the Cannondale Brand.

“We share the same passion for collaborating with champions to engineer great products that can be offered to cyclists worldwide.”

Franco Fasolato, MD of Diadora said:

“I am looking forward to working with the company’s leadership to expand the distribution of Diadora shoes and provide consumers worldwide with a premium cycling shoe,”
