Canyon releases first e-bike

Canyon has released its first e-bike, called the Spectral:ON.

The bike, which will compete in the e-MTB category, was designed to handle trail environments with 150mm of front and rear travel, and a Shimano STEPS E8000 drive system packing 250 watts of power.

The Spectral:ON features a 29” wheel and a 2.5” tyre hooked to a 30mm rim on the front, and a 27.5” rear wheel running a fatter 2.8” tyre on a 35mm rim.

It includes geo adjustment that shifts BB height by 11mm and slackens the head and seat tube angles enabling the rider to optimize their setup for all-round or more downhill-based riding. Canyon has developed their own saddle, dubbed the SD:ON, which has a unique profile – with men’s and women’s options available.

Other features include stiff single crown forks, DH-grade 4-piston brakes and e-bike specific DT Swiss wheels.

Four men’s and two women’s models of the Spectral:ON will soon be available to purchase online.
