The Telegraph's Tour de France Podcast will be fronted by journalists Richard Moore, Lionel Birnie and Daniel Friebe who formerly produced the Cycling Podcast. The trio will produce daily episodes throughout the race, including a preview before the Grand Départ in Yorkshire on July 5th. The podcast is to be sponsored by Jaguar, the car company which also co-sponsors Chris Froome's Sky Team.
Adam Sills, Head of Sport at Telegraph Media Group, said: "The Tour de France is one of the most important events on the sporting calendar, and one to which we have been giving increasing coverage in recent years. We are pleased to be teaming up with Richard Moore, Lionel Birnie and Daniel Friebe at The Cycling Podcast to launch The Telegraph Cycling Podcast, supported by Jaguar. This new daily Tour de France podcast will bolster our coverage and, with our cycling correspondent Tom Cary’s on-the-ground reporting, help make The Telegraph the number one source of news, analysis and interviews."
Mark Cameron, Global Brand Experience Director for Jaguar Land Rover, said: "We are delighted to be joining The Cycling Podcast and The Telegraph as official sponsors of The Telegraph Cycling Podcast, supported by Jaguar. As the cycling audience increases exponentially it becomes more discerning, and there is a growing appetite for intelligent, objective and thought-provoking discussion, debate and analysis."
The first episode will be an exclusive interview with David Millar, the veteran British rider about to start his final Tour de France. This will be broadcast on Thursday, June 26, nine days before the 2014 Tour gets underway in Leeds. The Telegraph Cycling Podcast, supported by Jaguar will broadcast daily half-hour episodes each evening from the Tour de France.
