Those in for repairs offered a bicycle instead of courtesy car

Car dealership sending customers away on bikes

A Bradford car dealership is offering those putting their car in for servicing or repair a bicycle to ride away on, as opposed to the traditional courtesy car.

As reported in the Telegraph & Argus, Clive Brook Volvo has taken the ecological approach for a number of reasons.

Managing director, Clive Brook told the paper: “It’s cheaper from a supply and insurance point of view, but its also cheaper for customers as there is no need to fill a bicycle up with petrol and there is also the convenience factor.

“Furthermore, there are significant environmental and health benefits so all in all we think it’s a great idea. At this stage we are probably preaching to the converted but I would hope the idea catches on and more people opt to use the cycles."
