Caratti folds on 1st November...

...but Schwinn/GT UK Sales takes its place. The name change is more than just cosmetic, says new supremo Trevor Bell
Publish date:

Come 1st November Caratti will cease to be. The Bristol-company owned by Questor of the US, who also own the GT and Schwinn brands becomes Schwinn/GT UK Sales. Trevor Bell, vice president and MD of Schwinn/GT in Europe says the name change will be accompanied by a root and branch overhaul of the business.

This was revealed to 120 key-account IBDs on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Also revealed was news on the disposal of Carattis two shops, the Bike-Techs in Cheltenham and Bristol. The Bikenet scheme is also subject to change. Instead of the annual flat fee IBDs will qualify for discounts and special offers subject to volume.

Plenty happening at Caratti, then. Time for a big interview. Very big. So big weve had to move it to the Features bit of the website...
