Vince Cable joins in praise for the retailer's International Trade prize win

Chain Reaction Cycles wins Queen’s Business Award

Huge online cycle retailer Chain Reaction Cycles has been given a Queen’s Award for International Trade at the annual London-set Queen’s Award for Enterprise ceremony.

The Northern Ireland-based business picked up the accolade for substantial growth in overseas earnings and in commercial success.

Before the Awards reception, Business Secretary Vince Cable said: “It’s wonderful to see that even with a difficult economic climate, individuals continue to find enterprising ways of working and helping others to establish their businesses.

“The people receiving awards today are an inspiration and I congratulate them on their hard work and their achievement. The opportunity for them to join the business winners and to go to the Palace to celebrate their hard work is well deserved and I hope they have a wonderful time.”

CRC founders George and Janice Watson attended the Buckingham Palace award reception where they met Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip.

George Watson said: “It was a great honour for Janice and I to meet the Queen and other members of the Royal family. We’re very proud to accept the award on behalf of everyone at CRC.”
