Colnago has announced that Solent (UK) Ltd t/a Windwave will become the UK and Ireland distributor from July 1st.
Ernesto Colnago said: “We have confidence in Windwave and believe they will provide a committed partner to enable us to expand the presence of Colnago in the UK market. We are grateful to Madison Cycles for the good partnership during these last years.”
Peter Nisbet, Windwave MD said:
“We have had in depth negotiations with the Colnago family and are very honoured to have been appointed. We are committed to developing the market presence and sales of this premier brand in the coming years.
"We are approaching our twentieth year in business and we are big enough to stock and promote the Colnago brand, yet small enough to focus on the individual needs of each specific brand. We are committed to promoting strong communications with the IBD network and will provide excellent technical and warranty service.”
Nisbet also said Colnago’s Ferrari bikes will become more available, the range of complete bikes will be expanded and the Colnago’s Italian-produced carbon frames will be stocked in depth.
Windave will invest in a strong consumer marketing programme including a UK specific website, a strong presence at the Cycle 2006 Show in London in October and a full range will be on display at the Core Bike Show from 28th to 30th January 2007. A grass roots sponsorship deal will become available to support shop teams, said Nisbet.
