Cycle Show pre-bookings are way ahead of 2004

There are 3800 pre-booked trade show visitors, 36 percent more than last year, and with the public pre-bookings being up by 96 percent year-on-year, the bigger venue could be welcoming 25 000 visitors, say the show organisers.

Build-up for the show starts tomorrow morning.

The bus gets in first. The double-decker London bus, that is. This will be at the centre of the show and is just one of the lifesize features on the Transport for London test track. There will also be trees, park benches and other street furniture.

Unlike the nooks and crannies feel of the Business Design Centre, the Cycle Show at Excel is in one big hall, with no pillars, so will be more "coherent", said show manager Andrew Brabazon.

Cycle Show 2004 had 6000 sq m of exhibition space; Cycle Show 2005 is fifty percent bigger, with 9000 sq m to play with.

The public are let in on Friday. The trade and press preview day is Thursday.
