Cycle Systems Academy has launched its Level 3 training course.
The new ten-day course, covering two working weeks, includes high-end groupset set up and maintenance, working with Shimano’s Di2 electronic system, and working with hydraulic brakes and suspension systems to an advanced level.
Cycle Systems said the course is the only full Level 3 bicycle mechanic course in the UK and is aimed at individuals or qualified mechanics looking to improve their knowledge and tackle some of the newest technology on the market.
The extensive training also covers issues beyond the scope of the industry standard EAL Level three syllabus.
Cycle Systems’ Robin Simpson said: "With the rapidly evolving nature of the bike industry in mind it is great we are able to adapt the Level 3 qualification perceptively to include the newest technologies on the market.”
Sonic Cycles’ Helmut Berns, former record holding racing cyclist and acclaimed frame builder and mechanic, will teach the road bike element of the Level 3 course.
Cycle Systems director Sean Lally added: "We are committed to providing the very best cycle mechanics training to both consumers and trade alike. With funding also being available through our partners Havering College there’s never been a better time to train yourself or your staff to gain a competitive advantage in the market place.”
As well as a ten-day unit over two working weeks, the course is being offered as a limited five-month weekend course (one weekend per month). The first course starts on June 20th. Bookings are being taken now.
