Suppliers team up and offer funds for two organisations that commit to increasing cycling amongst employees

Cycling Star Alliance launches £25k competition

Newly formed group the Cycling Star Alliance has launched a competition to give away £25,000 of infrastructure and consultancy to two organisations that demonstrate a commitment to increasing cycling among employees.

The winners will be chosen from one business or public sector organisation and one NHS trust or organisation. Entrants must have 1,000 or more employees and have the ambition to increase regular cycle use to five per cent of employees.

Each winner will receive a bespoke 12-month programme of consultancy, parking, bikes, maintenance and cycle training – worth £12,500 and delivered by the Alliance.

Matt Mallinder, LCC director of programme development, enthused: “What a fantastic opportunity for two organisations to fast-track their employee cycling, improving health and mobility, and creating all manner of business benefits.”

The Cycling Star Alliance’s members include the London Cycling Campaign, Cycle Systems, Cyclescheme and Brompton amongst others. For the full list click here.
