Annie Ravazzolo joins project to help in mission to get more young women on bikes

Darlovelo brings new project manager on board

The Bike Hub-backed Darlovelo project is ramping up its efforts to encourage teenaged women onto bikes.

The project has now hired Annie Ravazzolo, a keen cyclist, as a part-time project manager to attract new members, market the scheme and work with local schools.

Darlovelo has now also bought or acquired 33 Dutch-style bikes which are available for young women and girls in the Darlington area to hire.

Hire fees are £10 a month for the unwaged, and £20 a month for those earning. The figures were decided on after market research on how to balance affordability and enduring the projects sustainability.

Darlovelo is now looking at the next step in its mission to increase cycling in the area.
