Brands bag licensing deal for next year's sporting extravaganza

Dawes, Falcon and Claud Butler sign up to London 2012 Olympics

Tandem Group – comprising Dawes Cyles, Falcon Cycles, Claud Butler and MV Sports – is to produce official London 2012 cycling equipment and wheeled toys.

The deal is the latest in a line of Olympic licensing agreements made by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic games and Paralympic games (LOCOG).

As well as adult and child bicycles, Tandem Group produces scooters, tricycles, roller skates, skateboards and ride-ons.

LOCOG commercial director Chris Townsend commented: “London 2012 is keen to encourage cycling as a sustainable and healthy mode of transport so appointing a cycling licensee has been a key goal. We are thrilled to have such a strong British company on board in this important licensing category.”
