Cycles Gaansari of Dayton, Ohio, will be one on 2nd January. Co-owner Gary Boulanger was formerly global communications director for Huffy Bicycle Company's Airborne Direct division, and has turned his hand to many jobs in the US bicycle industry, including that of bike journalist. It was his skill as a scribe that got him a monthly column in Bicycle Retailer magazine. Boulanger's Retail Diary was critically-acclaimed but has now run its one-year course. It will be continued, blog-style, on the Gaansari website.

Diary of virgin IBD to live on as blog

"I’ve never editorialized my diary, nor have I kissed up to anyone in the hope of gaining new business or preferential treatment," said Boulanger.

"My wife and I strive to carve out a living in our small corner of the world, and it is our hope that we have a positive effect on the bike culture of Dayton, Ohio and beyond.

"My contract with BR&IN ends December 31, 2003, so I’ve decided to continue the spirit of the printed column on our website."

All of the 2003 diary articles are on Gaansari.com, with fresh diary entries to start appearing in the New Year.
