Eastern Bikes has revised the Mid BB, used as standard in the BMX world, making it wider to accept fatter tyres - a trend which has crept into BMX in recent years.

The majority of the mid to high-end BMX bikes in the 2011 line will utilise the new BB design which enables the wishbone to be wider spread, thus accomodating a larger tyre.

2.3" tyres are creeping into the niche with several manufacturers noting a demand for the bulky designs for both street and dirt use.

Eastern is calling the new bottom bracket design the EBB (Eastern Bottom Bracket)
