Edinburgh Bicycle has taken over the corner store formerly trading as The Bike Chain.

Edinburgh Bicycle opens second store in Edinburgh

Edinburgh Bicycle has opened a second store in its home city. The location on Rodney Street in Canonmills has been a bike shop for many years, the most recent being The Bike Chain.

"We have worked hard to make our shop on Bruntsfield Links a destination of choice for cyclists and cyclists-to-be since the 1970s," said Edinburgh Bicycle’s Ged Holmyard.

"Having a second shop in the vibrant environs of Canonmills will perfectly complement our offer in Bruntsfield by making it easier for the folk of north Edinburgh to experience our unique mix of exceptional bicycles and cycle equipment."

Founded in 1977, Edinburgh Bicycle is Britain’s longest-established co-operatively-run bicycle business. Every time-served staff member has an equal share in the business. The co-op employs 112 full members, with dozens more staff serving their one-year ‘apprenticeships’, and has eight shops serving six cities, including Aberdeen, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield.
