European Handmade Show cancelled

Lower registration numbers prompt organisers to pull the plug
Publish date:

The European Handmade Bicycle exhibition will not run in 2011 as a result of low exhibitor registrations.

Though successful in its first two years, the show scheduled for May 20th through 22nd will be replaced by a 'meet up' for all those interested in discussing the future of the show, as well as ongoing projects.

A statement on the organiser's website reads: "Unfortunately we have to cancel the exhibition this year, because there are not enough registrations from exhibitors who meet our requirements so far. Instead of the show we invite all framebuilders to come over for a framebuilders meeting on that weekend (May 20-22) to discuss the future of EHBE and possible other projects between framebuilders."

There have previously been whispers among exhibitors on "what purpose the show should serve", with some preferring the lower visitor numbers, many of whom will be frame building enthusiasts themselves, over crowded halls and vice versa.

In more positive news, Bespoked Bristol will be running in June this year. You can see the full exhibitor line-up here.
