Falcon re-launch Shogun as IBD-exclusive brand

The former Caratti Sport bike range is the latest offering from Brigg. Previewed at Falcon's recent house show, but now with product rolling off the production line and a catalogue hot-off-the-press, the Shogun brand is aimed at teenage boys.

Announcing the resurrection of a brand he used to work on during a former life, Falcon’s commercial manager Andy Wigmore said: “From my days with Caratti Sport the Shogun brand has always been warmly remembered by the dealers as a volume selling entry level range that complemented the specialist brands.

"We have had the brand available to us for some time now, but we opted instead to re-develop and position the Claud Butler brand, which were now well along the way in accomplishing.

"The timing is now right to re-launch Shogun as an IBD-exclusive brand that will complement Claud Butler as opposed to competing against it. The brand's main focus is towards the 12–20 year old category and will be very aggressive and modern in its looks."

The Shogun catalogue features six models: two Freestyle BMX bikes retailing at £129.99 and £149.99; two dirt/trials bikes retailing at £199.99 and £279.99; and two MTB hardtails also retailing at £199.99 and £279.99

"The range initially is quite small covering just the key areas but we have already started work on developing additional new models ready for our next launch platform in January 2003.”
