Distributor Fisher Outdoor Leisure has launched a series of Retail Sales Workshops, pitched at helping IBDs.
The first Retail Sales Workshop was held at the SRAM Technical Centre in conjunction with Dean Allder on February 28th with a select group of IBDs.
Allder has worked with the Fisher sales teams for three years and has a wealth of sales experience across multiple industries with a client list which includes Pepsi, Nokia and BT, among others. The key goal of the workshop was to get key shop floor staff from selected IBDs and improve their understanding of the selling process in order to help them make their businesses more profitable.
The firm said: "In a time where bricks and mortar retail is becoming increasingly challenging, one way in which an IBD can be as competitive as possible is to maximise all sales opportunities. As part of our on-going commitment to supporting independent retailers, we have launched and funded a unique initiative to improve the selling capability of IBD’s shop floor staff."
However, the distributor was keen to stress that this initiative is not specific to selling only specific Fisher products. External sales manager Martin Murray explained: “The aim is to support IBD customers, enabling them to improve their service and ultimately make them more profitable.
"The Retail Sales Workshops are a unique service in the UK and Fisher is proud to be investing like this in the IBD sector. The feedback from the first workshop was incredibly positive and rated the quality of the training very highly."
Fisher plan to roll this out to more customers over the coming months as part of its on-going IBD commitment. Any accounts wishing to take part should contact their Fisher sales representative or call 01727 798 345.
