In the second half of 2015, bike trade distributor Fisher launched a new Home Delivery Service which meant IBDs could order any item from the extensive Fisher product portfolio for next day delivery - direct to the end consumer.

Initially the service was available to a small number of dealers and now, six months on and the service successfully tested, Fisher is rolling the service out to all IBD customers with immediate effect.

The Home Delivery service enables an IBD to offer consumers all 9000 SKUs in the Fisher portfolio without any inventory risk. If a consumer wants something the IBD doesn’t have in stock they can choose to have it delivered next day to an address of their choice, or even select a Saturday delivery slot.

“The cycling market is continuing to grow, attracting more competition and becoming more sophisticate," explained James Browning, Fisher CEO. "This puts pressures on margins for brands, distributors and retailers. Each player needs to add more and more value and each sales channel will have different opportunities.

"Home delivery is another service from Fisher aimed at supporting the IBD and enabling them to offer consumers a wide range of products and choice in store with the convenience of shopping online whilst maintain the critical elements of local in store service and support, with zero risk to the dealer. We think giving IBDs the ability to offer next day delivery to a consumer’s address of their choice across over 9,000 stocked lines is a great tool which will allow our dealers to convert more sales in store.”

Fisher said supporting the IBD is at the very heart of its strategy and the Home Delivery service is yet further evidence of that, "recognising the important role independent specialists play in connecting brands with consumers". The firm has also created margin support programmes for Rockshox, Tacx and Zipp margin support programs, the SRAM and Campagnolo groupset builder, online bill payment service, euro b2b site, and the unique customer pricing EPOS feed.
