While the country is bracing itself for gusts up to 100mph in a 'red warning' from the Met Office, bike firms are among the many faced with disruptive local flooding.

Shutt Velo Rapide has been employed the use of sandbags and pumps to stave off flooding at its Brackley, Northamptonshire HQ.

According to the firm, water was lapping at the door of its offices at the end of last week, though it added "we got off lightly compared to others…"

The company said it suffered minimal losses, though there was disruption to some of its post being delayed in the system.
