Fox recalls Evolution Series Float and Talas forks

Cylinder and piston assembly may separate and allow fork to over extend
Publish date:

Fox Racing Shox has issued a voluntary recall on up to 40,000 Evolution series forks made between the period spanning March 1st 2012 to November 30th.

The issue with the model appears to be the possibility of the fork damper cylinder / piston assembly separating, allowing the fork to over-extend, ultimately meaning the front wheel could detach. One report of such an incident has been received to date, sparking the recall.

Affecting both OEM builds sporting the forks, as well as aftermarket units, riders should visit the manufacturer's recall page and enter their four digit ID code located on the back of the left fork leg. Alternatively, riders can enter the serial number stamped into the bottom of their fork’s steerer tube.

Those with forks affected by the issue will receive a free upgraded damper to be installed by a Fox service centre or qualified retailer.
