Maple Projects a management consultancy run by Paul Hilling had a five year distribution deal with Rocky Mountain starting in 1998 but when the Canadian company tried to impose business terms no longer advantagous to us as a business, says Hilling, the parties fell out.
Maple had appointed 30 stockists by the end of 2000 and were looking to add another ten. The company sold 800 bikes last year and had been hoping to double this by 2002.
Madison is the new Rocky Mountain distributor and will have some 2001 stock on display at the Cycle & Leisure Show. A full Rocky Mountain programme will start in September.
