Gates has created a Belt Drive exclusive cyclocross team, who not only have the goal to win races, but also to "grow the popularity of singlespeed cyclocross racing."
Having secured many podium spots on the cyclocross circuit in recent months, Team Gates Carbon Drive now has its sights set on the Singlespeed Cyclocross World Championships.
Paul Tolme of Gates told BikeBiz: "We created the belt drive SS CX team to push belt drives in the CX community."
The team now updates a blog, found here.
Belt drives are now carried on bikes from big name brands such as Trek, Norco, Raleigh, Seven Cycles and many others.
