The second volume in The Cycling Anthology series celebrates 100 years of the Tour de France. The project operates as a co-operative of writers: all the contributors receive a share of the books' profits.

Contributors include William Fotheringham (author of Bradley Wiggins’s autobiography, My Time), Jeremy Whittle (author of Bad Blood: The Secret Life of the Tour de France) and American journalist Samuel Abt (author of Breakaway: On the Road with the Tour de France).

There are also essays from Guardian journalist Richard Williams, who writes about his cycling hero Charly Gaul; former professional rider Daniel Lloyd, who documents his struggles during the one and only Tour he rode, in 2010; and Colombian writer Klaus Bellon Gaitán, whose arcile tells the story of the first Colombian team to ride the Tour, in 1983.

They’re joined by ITV cycling host Ned Boulting, newspaper journalist Brendan Gallagher and Australian cycling writer Rupert Guinness (author of Cadel Evans: The Tour).

The book is edited by cycling journalists Ellis Bacon (author of new book Mapping Le Tour) and Lionel Birnie (author of Hunger: Sean Kelly - The Autobiography).

The Cycling Anthology is published by Peloton Publishing. The Tour de France starts in Corsica on June 29th.
