We have an extensive range of proven display and point of sale materials that have helped to make Buff headwear one of the highest turnover items for many of our customers. Hides is a much more compact range but nonetheless we have merchandising materials creating an eye-catching and desirable display.

ATB SALES

RJ CHICKEN

Bouncing back after a serious fire, Chicken want to say a personal thank you to all those with messages of concern and support following the disaster. Happily and with the support of their suppliers, Chicken stocks will be completely replenished before the end of November.

With a new website live since November 12th, customers have had the benefit of drawing down supplies of many 2008 products earlier than expected.

We are only one of three remaining SKS distributors to be at Core. We are the only Mavic, KMC and Campagnolo distributor to be there with the latest products. The full range of Cinelli, Time and Tifosi bikes will also be on show.

Packhorse Place – our new address – has a slightly antiquarian ring. Almost Pickwickean? Well it is anything but. Our new warehouse and office, situated on the old Watling Street – now the A5 – is still in Kensworth, seven minutes from the M1, the road we have trodden for 30 years since our move from Watford.

It is from here that we are now operating with the benefit of large additional bulk storage locally. Bisley Works, with all its memories, is no more and we can say a personal thank you to all those whose messages of concern and support, following the disaster, helped us get over the saddest day in our business life. Happily, and with the support of our suppliers, our stocks were completely replenished before the end of November – less than three weeks after the fire. This was a fantastic effort on their part.

Within 10 days of the arsonist’s strike of a match, we had 40 per cent product availability (not counting spare parts). By the end of November we had 70-75 per cent availability – albeit not ready for despatch. But this was not a win-win situation.

We lost 50 plus years of cycling memorabilia, racing momentoes, an extensive library; we lost momentum – you did not have our continuous ex-stock availability and your customers have missed out on the services of our warranty and replacement parts which they have quite rightly come to rely on.

The destruction of Bisley Works was total. The only remaining item, intact though cracked, was found in the debris. Still hanging on a blackened wall – an engraved plate dated 1981 to mark the production of the 200,000,000th tyre at the Vredestein works in Holland since inception in 1934. There are probably a few dealers who will still remember those fun trips to the Dutch factory.

At Core, Chicken is offering a unique opportunity to see a further ten exclusive agency product ranges, including products from Time, Wintech, adidas, Mavic, Vredestein and, new for 2008, Veloman computers.

At 6.30 every evening you are invited to drop in for a drink at the Nurnburgring Room. Socialise with us and fellow IBDs.

HOPE TECHNOLOGY

This year we can be found in the Suzuka suite. This gives more room for a new, practical ‘hands on’ area for workshop questions and queries. Practical demonstrations will take place throughout the day, on demand. So, if you are unsure of a procedure, want to know if there is a better way of doing something or are just interested to learn, a member of staff will be on hand to demonstate repairs and give tips for workshop staff. We’ll also have promotions on tooling and spares.

There will be special show offers available on different products throughout the range.

A staff discount programme will be available to all Core dealers, again only at the show – something that won’t be available afterwards throughout the year. This is something new for 08 and it’s a great opportunity for dealers to get staff on our product at special prices.

All the new riding clothing will be available to see and order. 2008 dealer information, pricing and POS will be available to take away from the show.

Road wheels will be available to see for the first time, along with the 1LED and 4LED lights and new bottom bracket as well as the show stopping kid’s bike.

The Flux Helmet received praise from all corners of the planet, and the Sergeant short won over an army of converts.

At the Core bike Show we’re proud to introduce the 2008 collection. Once again the design and development team at Fox has been hard at work to bring you a stunning range. Some of the highlights include:

The Transition Helmet – building on the success of the Flux, the same in-molding technology and classy design. The result is a lightweight, high performance lid for the dirt jump riders.
The Flow Jersey – this piece has received a radical makeover for 2008, with an integrated inner layer wicking mesh shirt and a custom MP3 sleeve, complete with an inner cord routing system to dock those ear speakers when not in use.

UPGRADE

Reynolds solitude wheels manage to combine the weight (only 1590g) and performance of a specialist race wheel with a price tag (only £349) that suggests they can be used all year round.

A strong, stiff, lightweight aluminum rim with a low spoke count, internal spoke nipples, and a shallow-V profile is mated using DT Swiss Revolution spokes to a Reynolds custom designed sealed cartridge bearing hubset, which features 6-pawl rear hub internals for impressive durability and pick-up.

The Alloy Kit retails for £5.99 or a plastic packed version ‘The Smart Kit’ with six patches retails for only £1.99.

The new DMR Redshift tyre ups the game.
