Halfords launches Christmas bike TV ad campaign

Bikes last longer than other presents is a key message of the commercial

National bicycle and automotive parts and accessories retailer Halfords has launched its Christmas advert campaign across nationwide TV.

Focusing on encouraging customers to buy bikes for their children’s Christmas presents, the 30 second commercial features a girl who receives a bicycle for Christmas and continues to derive joy from it all year round, in all weathers.

The TV ad, focusing on the longevity a bike gift offers over others, debuted on Wednesday October 26th and will feature in a package of ads being broadcast on TV and online in the run up to Christmas.

“Our customers have had it really tough this year and deserve treating their families with gifts that last,” explained Gerry Murphy, group brand marketing director for Halfords.

“We’re committed to helping them this Christmas by stocking quality products – like bikes which we can build, safety check and fit for them – so they can be used all year round, making the most of their hard earned money.”

The ad was written by creative Richard Holmes and Remco Graham of DLKW Lowe and directed by Paul Gay of Waspface.
