Extra UK take home the award for parts and accessories

Hot Wheels voted ‘best distro for bikes’

The Hot Wheels team has received industry recognition in the form of the BikeBiz Award for Complete Bicycle Distributor of the Year.

The diverse portfolio of completes includes the UK’s top BMX brands in terms of unti sales and the highly fashionable Charge brand, which has taken the UK by storm across several niches. Charge should also be recognised for putting the most effort into their show booths, but we sadly don’t have an award for that!

Russell Merry, MD at Hot Wheels told BikeBiz: "We think that our blend of people and products are what has led to us receiving this award. We won’t get complacent because we know customers have a habit of voting with their feet! Despite what we all hear on the ten o’clock news we are optimistic about the future of our industry in the coming years and would like to thank your customers for their business and the people who voted for us for doing so.”

Extra UK were also delighted at being voted Distributor of the Year for parts and accessories. John Phillips of Extra said: "We really appreciate the support of the industry and extend our thanks to those who took the time to vote for us. This recognition means a lot to our company."

Hope Technology were voted Manufacturer of the Year and throughout the voting process, praised for their continued expansion into new territory. It’s worth noting that the majority of the nominees in the Manufacturing category were UK-based, a positive sign that quality product need not be shipped across the world.

USE took the accolade of Product Innovation, while Madison triumphed were voted to have the very best sales staff in the UK. For such a huge distributor, that’s quite an achievement.
