Howies has signalled a return to its cycling roots on the back of its recent buyout of the Timberland Group with the introduction of a mountain biking inspired jacket.

Sold to Timberland in 2006, which was subsequently bought out by the VF Group, Howies had become an incredibly small part of a multi-billion pound corporation. It was announced on January 1st that throughout 2011 Howies had gradually worked on buying back its business to become a standalone unit again.

The new Jacket, dubbed the Brenin will launch in spring and alongside the recent sponsorship of the Revolution Series track team, signals a new chapter in the Howies brand's story.

Set to retail for £100, the Brenin features reflective panelling, headphone ports, folds up into itself for storage and is stretchy in all the right places to allow freedom in the saddle.
