Performance in the field has been a key driver behind growing sales of Rotor’s innovative aluminium Rotor 3D+ crankset, BikeBiz has been told.

Thor Hushovd’s World Championship victory in Australia (on October 3rd) has doubled demand for the crankset. The Cervelo Test Team has also been equipped by Rotor in 2010.

The Madrid-designed and engineered Rotor 3D+ weighs 475g minus rings and features a bottom bracket bearing with compatibility with BBright, BB30 and BSA threaded bottom bracket systems.

“We seem to live in a carbon age,” explained Robin Corder, MD of Rotor distributor Velotech Services. “But, It is only a few seasons since most pro-team riders, especially sprinters and time trialists, would always opt for aluminium cranks over the carbon option because of their superior strength, stiffness and power delivery. Right now performance aluminium cranks don’t come any stiffer, lighter or highly recommended than Rotor 3D+.

“We’re really excited that Rotor dealers and their customers are enjoying the performance benefits that 3D+ cranksets and Rotor’s other innovative products offer every rider – just ask Thor.”
