I-ride reveals Orro Gold and Oxygen road bikes

Seen by a select few at CoreBike, but otherwise a mystery, i-ride finally reveals very competitive road brand
Publish date:

After months of dangling something called 'Orro Bikes' infront of curious road cyclists via the @orrobikes Twitter account, i-ride has today released images and information on the new road label.

The Gold and Oxygen bikes, seen below, are the first two products to come from the label. Both bikes feature proprietary blends of 20, 40 and 60 Ton carbon fibres to tailor the ride feel to their specified purpose. They also both feature tapered head tubes for accurate confidence inspiring steering and oversized BB30 bottom brackets for taut power-transfer.

The eye catching thing about Orro for many will be the prices, which see the label taking on some of the direct to consumer brand's best offerings. The Gold, which uses 40 and 60 ton carbon fibre within the frame is available for just £1,999 for a mechanical and £2,599 for a di2 spec.

The Gold has a relaxed geometry and tips the scales at 955g (painted). With a press fit 30BB, tapered head tube and internal hybrid electronic cable routing it's built for stiffness and reliability. The bike comes fitted with either a full Ultegra 6800 mechanical or electronic Di2 groupset, Fulcrum Racing 3 wheels shod with Continental Grand Prix 25mm tyres, 3T finishing kit and Prologo saddle and bar tape.

The Oxygen (below) has been developed to run standard length brakes with up to 28mm tyres. This combined with the Oxygen’s balanced geometry means whether your customer is embarking on a sportive, local road ride or tackling a fast paced commute, it should excel across them all.

The Oxygen features a monocoque carbon frame with tapered headtube, internal cable routing, and BB30 bottom bracket, which weighs only 999g (painted). The spec includes full Shimano 105, Fulcrum wheels with Continental tyres, 3T finishing kit and Prologo saddle and bartape for just £1,299 SRP. For £1,399 SRP the Oxygen comes upgraded with 3T Accelero Pro 40 aero section wheels.

A 5 year original purchaser warranty is offered on the frame and fork for those who register their bikes.

Orro Bikes are to be hand assembled in the UK by i-ride's mechanics, with the first stock set to land with shops in April.

I-ride has already hand picked a selection of dealers to carry the brand in most territories, but should a dealer be interested in become a stockist they can contact info@i-ride.co.uk.
