Ison Distribution and Salsa Cycles part ways after a decade

By mutual consent, Ison Distribution and Salsa Cycles are ending their long term distribution partnership of over ten years.

The split is effective from today (Aug 1st) with Model Year 2015 product.

Ison MD Lloyd Townsend said: “We would like to thank all of our dealers who have supported Ison and Salsa in the UK for the last 10+ years but after much discussion with Salsa Cycles, with regret, we have mutually decided to announce the end the long partnership as of August the 1st 2014.

"Ison has grown the brand from a niche business based around skewers, seat clamps and stems, into a premium complete bicycle brand.

"Ison has built-up a solid UK dealer base, which we will continue to support by providing a limited supply of Salsa products and a full warranty/spares service until such time as another UK distributor has been found.”

Benton Hunt, Global Sales Manager for Salsa Cycles, added: “Salsa Cycles thanks Lloyd Townsend and Ison Distribution for their partnership and service to our brand over the years. We will work closely with the Ison team to ensure the best possible transition and support Ison and their dealers throughout this process. Salsa Cycles are working to appoint a new distributor as soon as possible.”

So what about the future? This situation potentially leaves Salsa USA without a UK based 2015 range distributor. We’re told Salsa USA will consider a direct to UK dealer supply for a limited period for 2015 frames and parts until a new UK distributor has been successfully appointed.

Here’s the nitty gritty details for Salsa dealers: 

• Ison will continue to offer a full warranty and support service for all Salsa product purchased through Ison until a new distributor is found.
• Ison will continue to deliver a limited supply of pre-2015 Salsa products, until a new UK distributor is appointed.
• Salsa USA will consider a direct to UK dealer supply for a limited range of 2015 frames and parts until a new distributor has been appointed.
• Ison will continue to expand its other bike brand interests.
