30 per cent reduction in the offing for electric bikes

Italy to give ebikes a tax incentive?

Ebikes could be set to receive a tax incentive to encourage uptake in Italy, according to this report in BikeEurope.

With Italy looking to cut pollution and encourage sustainable transport, the proposal – put forward by industry body ANCMA – would see all ebikes granted a 30 per cent tax incentive.

The proposal would be limited for ebikes up to the cost of 700 euros.

Should the move go ahead in the Southern European nation then it is reported that the move could be mirrored in other EU countries.
