The Sky Ride programme of bicycle rides is continuing throughout 2012, hitting a range of UK locations ranging from big cities like Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham, to smaller locations through Sky Ride Local.
The free rides, using the ‘everyone’s invited’ tagline this year, are pitched at non-cyclists and cyclist alike.
Long-term supporter, model and actress Kelly Brook is again involved this year, taking part in Sky Ride Manchester on Sunday July 15th. DJ and presenter Edith Bowman will be riding at Sky Ride Edinburgh on Saturday September 8th, while X Factor’s Stacey Solomon will cycle at Sky Ride Edinburgh and Charlie Webster will cycle at Sky Ride Plymouth on Sunday August 19th.
Meanwhile presenter Gethin Jones is specifically backing the Sky Ride Local programme, this year reaching 45 locations. Jones, with Brook and Bowman, took part in Sky Ride’s promo video (below).
Even if you have no idea who some of these people are, their presence will no doubt help generate publicity for these rides taking place around the country and aimed at making cycling fun and accessible. Find out more about Sky Rides here.
